THE ashes of a 23-year-old Malaysian, who was stabbed to death by three men outside a karaoke outlet in Keelung city in Taiwan, has been brought home, Sin Chew Daily reported.

Kapar councillor Ti Thong Siew told reporters that the family will be holding a wake for the victim, whose surname was Chen, at Bliss Gardens in Shah Alam on Nov 24 and 25.

Ti said the victim’s mother flew to Taiwan after finding out about her son’s death before bringing his ashes back.

“The mother and family members asked for some space. Please refrain from pestering them with questions. Let them accompany the victim on his final journey in peace,” he told the media.

It was reported that the incident happened on Nov 15 outside a karaoke centre in Keelung city.

Chen and his friend were believed to have earlier opened the wrong karaoke room, which angered a group of three men.

They bumped into the group again at 4am outside the centre and an altercation ensued.

One of them stabbed Chen in his inner left thigh before fleeing.

Chen was rushed to hospital for treatment but succumbed to his injuries on Nov 18.

Police arrested the suspects on the same day and they were charged in a court.
