PUTRAJAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim says he already has a suitable candidate to fill the position of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister.

The post was left vacant after Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub passed away in July.

Speaking to reporters after prayers at Surau Al-Furqan here on Friday (Nov 24), Anwar replied "Yes, there is" when asked if there was someone to take over from Salahuddin.

Without revealing more details, Anwar said an announcement would be made soon.

Salahuddin, 61, died at Hospital Sultanah Bahiyah in Alor Setar, Kedah on July 23 after undergoing surgery following a brain haemorrhage.
