Once upon a time, there was a prince and a princess who lived in a magnificent castle. Their dream castle stood tall with towering spires that reached for the sky. It was a magical place filled with secrets and wonders just waiting to be discovered by young children.

In this enchanting place, there lived also magical pets. Cute dragons, talking animals, and even unicorns as loyal companions. They could talk and go on adventures together, exploring the mysterious secret passages hidden within the castle’s walls.

In the gardens, flowers of all colours and size grow. Children like you could play and make wishes.

The prince and princess were always ready to take part in adventures. They had wizards to cast spells, fairies to grant wishes, and knights to protect them from any danger. Together, they explored new lands, solved mysteries, and made wonderful memories.

Recently, Starchild asked readers to send in letters on the topic, Fairytale World. Here’s what they had to say.

Bethany Wang Qi Syuen, 8“My grand castle has many spiral stairs leading to rooms and underground cellars. These cellars store sparkling champagne produced by a very special flower in my garden. Outside there’s a magical fountain, fairies, and a treehouse for children. I also have a submarine named Hydro and a robot called Eartho to keep the castle safe everyday,” says eight-year-old Bethany Wang Qi Syuen.

“My castle is painted in vibrant colours, has pretty floor tiles and game rooms with game sets for me to play. Outside there’s a trash room for rubbish. The castle garden is magical with trees that change colour and thorns that grow thornier each day,” writes younger sibling Asher Wang Qi Chuen, five.

“However, I would like it to be painted gold inside. There would also be lifts and stairs leading to all my enormous rooms on the upper floors. The kitchen is not forgotten too! There would be a professional chef cooking all my favourite food using high tech cooking utensils and machines.

Ashlynn Grace Oommen, 6"To beautify my magnificent castle, I would have lovely and beautiful flowers in the garden. In my backyard, I would have a football stadium and field to enjoy this activity with my friends. For the safety of my family and myself, there would be security guards guarding the castle 24 hours a day. Although I wish to have such a grand castle, I am still very thankful to be living in my simple and cosy apartment.”

“In my magical fairytale world, rainbows are like slides to other lands, and unicorns are my best friends! We have tea parties with talking animals, and our castles are made of candy. Every day is an adventure, and happiness fills the air. It’s a world where dreams come true,” says Ashlynn Grace Oommen, six.

Erica Sofia, 12, wants to live beneath the sea with dolphins, colourful fish, and friendly mermaids. “In my fairytale world, I’ll will explore hidden shipwrecks and have picnics on coral reefs. Every day is a watery adventure, and I’ll be the guardian of the deep, making sure the ocean stays clean and beautiful. It’s a world of underwater wonder.”

ITEM: It’s almost the end of the year now. You have probably done many things this year. Did you get good results in school because you studied hard? Did you help your mother with the household chores? Did you tidy up your toys after you played with them?

If you did, then we would like to say ‘’Well done!’’ We hope you keep up the good work.

For the topic this time, however, we would like you to think about the naughty things you’ve done.

Did you pull your sister’s hair and make her cry? Did you take a friend’s book without telling him? Maybe you misbehaved in a restaurant. That’s a very naughty thing to do. So is throwing a tantrum when you are told to finish your homework.

Were you punished for your behaviour? What did you do to make up for it?

Write about how you have been naughty, and draw a picture of that mischievous deed.
