GEORGE TOWN: A private Japanese school and an international school here also received bomb threats on Tuesday (Nov 21), similar to the ones received by international schools in the Klang Valley.

The two schools here lodged police reports early in the afternoon after they received emails containing the same details.

George Town acting OCPD Supt V. Saravanan said both schools received emails with the heading that reads: "A bomb had been planted at the school".

"Both schools lodged separate police reports, one at the Tanjung Tokong police station at 11.20am and the other at Datuk Keramat police station at 12.27pm.

"The email stated that the sender is facing life problems and hates the people and was sexually abused by their father since young as well as being humiliated in school," he said in a statement on Tuesday (Nov 21).

He said a K9 unit was sent to both schools.

"We found nothing suspicious at either location.

"The Fire and Rescue department was sent to both schools as well," he said.

The case is being investigated under Section 507 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation by anonymous communication.

This news came right after a number of international schools within the Klang Valley area received bomb threats on the same day.

It was learned that one of the schools in Kajang was evacuated between 9.30am and 10am on Tuesday after receiving an email about the threat.
